I personally have a Nexus 4, but bought my girlfriend a S7589 from Amazon a few weeks ago. I might be looking to upgrade (or just try something different) in the near future so, keep us posted.

In regards to the S7589, it's a decent phone. Big. Fast. Battery life is good. The screen looks awesome straight on, but the viewing angle is pretty sharp. From the side, the image looks a little washed out (though I can't imagine why this would be a problem). The only MAJOR downsides I've seen thus far are as follows:

1. Bluetooth seems buggy. When pairing with the car stereo, it can be hit-and-miss. My understanding is that this isn't uncommon with Android 4.1.1 and could be fixed if I could figure out how to update the OS.

2. I can't figure out how to update the OS. Haha.

3. Cases for this phone are pretty much nonexistent. Perhaps one day after 3D printers become more widespread, designing and fabricating one would be a possibility.

4. GPS doesn't work. I saw fixes mentioned on this forum but have not tested them yet.

Besides that, it's a pretty solid phone. I don't regret paying what I did for it. Girlfriend seems happy and for me, it was a eye opening step into a really fascinating market.

I ended up getting both being such a phone/tablet junkie as I am Big Grin
S7589 in my possession, and I played all kinds of games with it.

GPS works perfectly, try the ROM I have posted inS7589 forum.

BT works too.

You need to root it and install CWM or TWRP recovery, then you'll be able to make a nandroid backup of your current ROM and play with different ROMs safely.

B6000 is not here yet.

You are not alone about eye opening step into a really fascinating market.
I needed something to replace my Touch Pro 2, so here I went Smiling

Promptly sold my Nexus 4 and Note II. Why have two phones when I can have 5 for the same amount of money? Big Grin

Missus likes her Nexus 4 though, so it's out of reach.

Me, I am a simple guy, and the bigger the display, the better the phone.

I lost speed, 4G / LTE from Nexus 4, but come on, I don't need it too often anyway, only when I stuck in traffic. At home and at office I have a broadband.

after installation, u will see a lot of different when u view it at around 160 deg

Ajust the filter at the point best suit u.
Dude! Thanks for this! I looked up this app last night, read a handful of reviews, then promptly installed it AND told a few friends about it. Crazy useful and helpful. Spare battery life, stop phone from blinding me at night, and (if I ever have to) have the ability to check my phone in a movie theater without bothering everyone else around me! Rockin!!! And this is on my Nexus 4.

I think this really would help the girlie's S7589 too, excepts she views the blinding nature and washed out peripheral viewing angles as a feature rather than an annoyance. When I mentioned this app to her last night, she told me that the blinding nature of her phone is something she actually really likes about it. Win!

Maine, much in the same regard.... I really really really REALLY want to try your fix. Root, CWM, TWRP, backup, then play. I've never rooted a phone before, let alone installed a custom ROM. Unfortunately she's already grown to love her S7589. Prying the phone back away from her to potentially break (er... upgrade) it would be like trying to take a steak away from a famished rottweiler. Ain't happening.

I might have to get one of these puppies for myself so I can have free reign with it, *THEN* give it away after I get everything working. Or not.

So many options. So very many options. I feel like a junkie already. Drool

I certainly love the comparisonBig Grin

Believe me, my friend, nobody here or anywhere else was born w/knowledge of how to root phones or install ROMs. We live, we ask questions, we learn.

You can get either S5789 or B6000 for under $200 now, not too much to pay for a new toy, besides, it can be the spare phone.

actually there r a lot of brightness control app in play store, for brightness control on Nexus 4, the "screen filter" app is not so good, try "Lux lite" by Vito Cassisi ,

the "screen filter" is very good to S7589 or for those phone which has a serious backlight leaking, most of the cheap china's phone has serious backlight leaking, except for those newer screen technology, (OGS, one glass solution screen)

Edit: please be careful with the LUX lite. I think if u go over the dark too much, then u can't see the display, so don't let go the finger with the screen, then slide the finger back to brighter end.
Finally got my B6000 today.
It is a beauty.
And I mean it.
S7589 is nice, but B6000 is way better.
Screen is gorgeous, MTK6589T, 15300 in Antutu, 8GB buit-in memory.
Came prerooted, w/2 batteries and really good screen protector, charger, USB cable and headphones.
I have installed CWM.
The speaker is much better and louder than S7589.
GPS cold fix takes 20 sec or less Smiling

Not so nice:
did not recognize my 64GB XD card, which works fine in S7589.
No TWRP that I could find.
No nice flip case in existence.
Oh well. Nobody is perfect. Smiling

My girl was impressed by B6000. But when I asked whether we should sell her Nexus 4 and get this one, she said: "No". Pure and simple Smiling

My beloved S7589 is going to be sold..
PM if interested.

In other news:
My I6000 finally got shipped from DX.com! Oh Joy! I had a chat w/them yesterday and I told them that unless they ship it really soon I am cancelling the order. Guess they got the message. Tracking number from HK was assigned. So, couple more weeks..
Would love a bit more in depth review?? Big Grin

Build quality is good?
Camera sample shots?
Not enough real world thoughts on this fantastic phone!!

I described my problems with ali sellers many times on this forum.
Don't trust them.
Don't wanna deal with them.
Will buy only from dx or panda. Or from the sponsors of this site Smiling
