I just picked up a Yuntab H8 today, and managed to black screen it already. I'm fairly new to this whole process, but found another forum post that seemed to suggest fastboot works, and after using "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" I now get a black screen. The screen does vibrate when I touch it, if that means anything. Is it to late for BeTools? If not, can someone PM me with the login creds to download it? Any advice would be appreciated.

Once downloaded please write again so I can give you the password for the RAR file. You can send me a PM if you wish. As for PMs, I usually reply quickly.

I must mention that I have included ALL the files I have related to Betools (RAR file), there are 2 versions and 3 keys, as I cant remember which one works with which, so you will have to find out that yourself. There is also a PDF file with simple instructions to guide you.

Just before I forget, what Android do you have on your Yuntab H8 ? If it is Android 7.0 I would appreciate you could upload the Original ROM to some place, ie. needrom.com

Best of luck !

Thanks!  The PDF is only 1kb, and says it's corrupt using two different readers.  But, BeTools is now installed.  From what I understand, the scatter file contains the details of the partition boundaries, and me just using fastboot to write twrp.img ignored those boundaries and things didn't line up, does that sound right?  When I power on the device plugged into USB, for about 5 seconds device manager loads the VCOM driver.  I know there's a setting in BeTools that tells it to download upon connect, but beyond all this, i'm not sure how to proceed.  I don't have the stock android 7 recovery.img, but it sounds like if I had the entire rom then BeTools could connect and auto reflash to stock.  Any ideas where I should go next? Could I use the scatter file from Android 6 and reflash twrp? I'm fairly new to all this, and certainly mediatek devices. And just to clarify, right now I can't get adb or flashboot to see the device, just a black screen with backlight after power on. But with the brief loading of the VCOM device, i suppose that give me some hope of recovery.

Those are the options I can think of. I start from the assumption that your Tablet is bricked so those are the solutions to your problem.
I am sorry I cant think of any other way of "reviving" your tablet. Probably flashing the TWRP again from fastboot can do the trick, but maybe you have already done it and it does not work.

As far as the drivers are concerned. YES, VCOM is necessary to be loaded so you can flash a ROM with Betools. And on the other hand it is best you load the scatter file from its own ROM. If that scatter file belongs to Android 6.0 then use that one and/or if you have a backup of Android 7.0 then use it's own scatter file. Having said that, in your position you dont have anything to lose, so if you just want to flash TWRP you can try so with Android 6.0's scatter file. The worst thing that can happen is that the tablet will stay the same.

If your purpose is to just flash a recovery, (in this case the TWRP) then you can do so through fastboot easily. It seems you have done it but it didnt work, so I can jump to the conclusion that the TWRP for Android 6.0 does not work on Android 7.0 (but this is just an opinion).

    Tell us how it goes.

Thanks, that's really good information.  In BeTools, under IMEI and project list, which chip do i select?  I was thinking it's S801, but that's not an option.  Here's what i'm doing:  Under Download, I select the scatter file (for Android 6.0 here in the forums), then under "select all", i'm only selecting recovery that points to JRFT160107.img.  I am noticing though that the scatter file is for MT6735M, and not MT6735P like I have, so this is sounding all the more unlikely of a solution (if that even matters).  When I click Download and restart the tablet, I get a "S_CHIP_TYPE_NOT_MATCH (Error code = 3184)".  Doing a quick google search, this does confirm that the scatter file I have doesn't match my chip.  This is kinda good i guess, because I can still see the device.  Do you have the scatter file for the MT6735P? As you mentioned, this may all be a waste of time because it does appear the version 6 and version 7 need a different twrp.
