Hi

I'm trying to root Kingzone S2.
It's a MT6580 with Android 6.0
I've tried KingRoot and iRoot, but no way.
I haven't found any recovery and don't know if bootloader is locked or not.

Any help?

Thanks
Woody
Hello Woody, you'll probably need to flash TWRP and then install root from there. iRoot and such don't work on Android 5.1+.

See this thread, Cleopatra can likely make a TWRP for you for $5.

Thanks for the suggestion.

My concern is that I haven't found the original stock ROM in case of problem, so I have asked Cleopatra some info regarding this.

Waiting for suggestions.

Bye
Woody
Hi woody. Did you get any help from CLeopatra with Kingzone S2 phone? I have the same phone with same specs. I managed to unlock the bootloader but I dont have any recoveries nor roms for it. Nor do i have root on that phone.
@woody4165 :

Put you in touch with "HardcoreHenry" to divide the amount of donation.
"Communication" is the name of the game Smiling

Can you confirm that the stock rom is the next ?

So, I managed to root the phone. Here's what I did:

1: Download the stock rom from this site: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] ;

2: Unpack it ;

3: Make sure you have your drivers installed and that you have adb, make sure adb can see your device ;

4: Flash the next images from the stock rom to your android via adb:

fastboot flash boot C:\Kingzone-S2\boot.img

fastboot flash recovery C:\Kingzone-S2\recovery.img

fastboot flash cache C:\Kingzone-S2\cache.img

fastboot flash userdata C:\Kingzone-S2\userdata.img

fastboot flash system C:\Kingzone-S2\system.img ;

5: Then: fastboot reboot , let it reboot into system ;

6: Then: adb reboot bootloader , fastboot devices (to check if your device is there) , fastboot oem unlock (volume up to unlock bootloader) , the device will do a factory reset (if you see a bootloop, press volume up + power button to get into recovery then do a factory reset from there once more) ;

7: You should get into system now, keep your phone connected with pc, download SuperSU : [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] (and put SuperSU on your sdcard) and TWRP recovery: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] ;

8: In adb: adb reboot bootloader , fastboot boot recovery.img ( DO NOT FLASH it or you will have to do all these steps again because it gets into bootloop and factory reset won't help) You should boot into TWRP recovery, from there flash the SuperSU zip and reboot. Done. You are now rooted. Enjoy. Lol Big Grin

In step 4, change the location of those files that you have to the exact location on your pc.

Btw, does anyone know why I can't send a private message to anyone? Big Grin

And make sure, Developer options>OEM unlocking and USB debugging, are always enabled. Before flashing, after flashing, after oem unlocking via fastboot. ;)
@woody4165

You dont need to flash those files. In fact can you make a backup of your stock rom( the one you have installed on your kingzone) and send it to me? Big Grin I would need it because i dont have it anymore. Lol.

Hi HardcoreHenry

You made my day! THANKS
I just saw your message and done the root
I flashed the "new" fw before seeing this, so now I don't have anymore the original one.
But flashing the first time, with Sp Flash Tool, I lost the Imei and now I am not able to recover them with any procedures....
In the engineering mode there is no possibility to change them.

How did you find the right way to root?

Thanks
I just searched google for like 3 days straight.lmao.then i found a twrp recovery for kingzone s2 on another forum site and flashd it.actually the wrp recovery doesnt get me in bootloop anymore.not sure how that got fixed.lol.and then through twrp recovery flashed the latest supersu.zip.and done Big Grin but what firmware you have on that phone now? i have the rom from kingzone s2 official site.but thats panco c1 firmware not kingzone s2.and now i have only 512mb ram and its really lagging.and sometimes crashes and reboots multiple times. Sad

about imei. im gonna search google.maybe i can find something.gonna let you know if i find something useful ;) and btw. flash via adb and fastboot. atleast thats what ive done with different phones and different roms. i tried other roms on kingzone s2, flashed via fastboot.but no help.they dont work on it.lol

not sure about this one.since mtkdroid tools hasnt detected my kingzone even once.lol.but sp flash tool did.i have all the drivers installed too.

another option to try.let me know if you have tried these already.
Thanks again
i didn't noticed the ram stuff, very bad.
I should have the possibility to get another S2 froma friend of mine with pure stock rom.
in that case how can i make a backup, since the phone is not rooted?

I'm having issue too with mtk droid tools, on win10 it does not recognize the phone, on win 8 it does recognize, but when i click Root after a while say connection lost and nothing works

PS: for the ime issue, i tried chameleon from play store and it seemed to work
