The phone has eventually arrived from geekbuying.com today (30/12) having heard good things about them, however my experience has left me somewhat dissapointed.

They promise speedy dispatch and 3-5 day if upgrade to DHL (ordered on 17/12 as it was to be a christmas present for my wife), sadly after 13 days it was a bit late for christmas!

Just as an additional note Geekbuying were also not prepared to put gift on package and I was stung for 20% UK tax on the phone.

On to the phone...

Unboxing was a bit easier than shown on here, but I think that is down to the fact that no flip case is included when purchased from geekbuying.com (will not be using them again!).

The phone it self is fairly slim its a bit cheeky with the 6.5mm measurement as it gets thicker towards the centre at the rear, but overall it does feel slim in the hand.
Visually length wise its about 1cm longer than my Galaxy s4 and about 1-2mm wider.

THE SCREEN

The screen is nice and clear and the difference between 720 and 1080 is not really that noticeable, the big difference with the S4 and the V3 is the saturation of the colours on the S4, giving deeper colours. Overall its a very nice display and hopefully there will be someone that is able to produce an app or custom rom that can tweak this to get it looking perfect.

THE CAMERA

The camera on the V3 has a major advantage over the S4, in that the lens offers a much wider angle (the S4 requires you to be a lot further back to capture group photos, I often struggle to get the pictures I need due to tight confines not allowing me to step back far enough to frame the subjects and take the photo I want).
As you can see by the pictures taken on a dull rainy indoors day in England, the flash on the V3 has delivered a bright natural look, making the S4 look a little dark and drab.
However the same photos without the flash show a lot more noise on the V3 than the S4, with tweaking this may be something that can be improved.

I will take the phones with me to work new years eve (I do night club photography) and grab a load of low light shots to really give the camera a test.
I will upload the images once I have had a chance to recover from partying lol.

The rom feels smooth in operation with no real perceivable lag and everything works as it should.

I would be happy to have this phone as my daily driver (if my wife decides it is too big for her, this may be the case lol) and with a fairly active community already working on the Inew I6000 the possibility of a custom rom seems likely.

I would love to see Inew supply the source for the phone so that the devs here and on XDA can get kitkat up and running quickly and hopefully a decent CM rom supported, along with Miui and several sony and samsung touchwiz inspired roms 9can never have too much choice!).

Thanks for the review. I ordered today. Amazing camera!
If your Uk based I may be selling it Sad my wife is not happy about the size.

Strangely the camera showed up to 18mp, so I downloaded android hardware info ([Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] ) and it shows back camera 18.2mp
I also I have installed fv-5 camera app and it shows the camera as 18mp f2.2

Could it be that I have a different camera module in my phone? or is this normal?
Hi and thanks for pictures but i cant see them, when I press on them they are still small , someone know the problem?

What about pictures in low light room and dark, are they okay?

Thanks again, all the best .

There is a catch - v92 is single sim Tongue

@shanos - what price tag will you look for v3 and are you willing to send it to Eastern Europe?

P.S.
Sorry to ask here directly, but I'm not allowed to PM/e-mail you from the forum

You most likely got an older model. I have a V3-E and 18.2M f2.2 rear camera. OTG, NFC and Gesture motion does work on my phone. Have a try on OTG, NFC or Gesture motion function to see if anything works. The rest of the phone works fine. Camera and GPS work great.
shanos , have you tested taking photos in low light?? if so please put some samples here ;) I've ordered the phone and i wanna know how does it's camera work in low light
thank you
There's many contradictory information on the internet regarding MTK6582 chip built in iNew V3. Specificaly for the camera, some say the chip is capable of 8MP, and others say 13MP. As it is a Chineese phone, it's very probable that camera interpolation is done, so 13MP is upscaled to 18MB, 8MP to 13MP, 5MP to 8MP, and so on. Since I have seen in many places that images can be saved as 18MP, I would hardly believe they would resize the image from 8MP to 18MP, because the image wouldn't be so good like in the first post. So my feeling is that the phone has real 13MP, and that's enough for me.

Regarding the video encoding, many say it has "only" 720p capability, but I've been reading the chip is capable of 1080p too. There are some apps (ucam) which can force recordings into 1080p mode (without upscaling), so maybe that will be resolved with some future update. Quad-core should be more than capable of doing such things, so I hope the issue will be resolved soon. Can't tell about framerate @1080p, but even 25fps would be great.

As for the OTG, air-gesture and NFC, I've been reading first batches had some problems with these (or a combination, like on a lottery), but later batches (those named as V3-E) are working fine. I would be a more happier person if all those issues have a software nature, but we'll see how that problem will be resolved soon.

Anyways, a good looking phone and nice build quality for the price. Hardware is also decent, so I hope I'll be enjoying mine soon. Ordered it from AntElife for $164 two days ago. Hope it's a V3-E. Fingers crossed Smiling

Hello, the maximum resolution of 720p supported by the chip MTK6582 regards the resolution of the screen. I do not think he limits video recording, those might depend on the camera's sensor.
