what do you think about making a petition for a INew v3 open source? Just like FAEA F2s! They already have cyanogenmod and omnirom 4.4.
I'm with both hands for this petition! But I think it's impossible Smiling We don't even have real official web site. [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] - I've tried to email there, but had no luck.
First of all i think its better to work on that battery petition. For real , its day 4 and only 96 people voted. Which almost about half of them are persian people who i called in our local forum..
I mean if we collect votes for any other petition like the battery one , ... I'm Afraid that they will lead to nowhere...
I'm kinda disappointed by the battery petition's vote count... I was expecting a lot more votes (at least from people of this forum)
I repeat that I respect your effort, commitment and time but poor response petition because the demand is much greater than the supply, although buyers are reading this and other forums and know that the battery is not the best but they are buying and why the manufacturer and seller of a change when sales going like crazy. When a person signs the petition, but knows in advance that it is very difficult to accomplish, then it looks as if something went down on his knees for some people, and I feel humble, this is another reason not to sign. Most popular topic is "Can we use a different battery in the iNew".We all know why. Please read this opinion one of the many customers:

"I have this mobile for 1 week now. It is perfect as it says !! except the battery doesn't last long (one day without using it too much) so I will buy one more! It is quick as it say, photos are good , video good, microphone very good, for it's price it's more than I expected!! I recommend it !! I will buy it again for two friends of mine!!!"
With all do respect sir we are so over with this "this phone worths the price " stuff.
You have your phone in your hands for about a week and i get it that you are surprised with quality of the phone in other departments. When we first received it we were surprised too.
It's been more than 45 days that a lot of people ( including me ) are testing and discussing on every other aspect of the phone and we truelly know about the capabilities of iNew v3.
I totally know whats the point that you are trying to make here. And I can tell you that this petition is not about that.

Danyno both you and me have "working relationship" with to2c (I bought two devices and sent a friend of mine there and he bought 2 {2 iNew V3 and one THL w200s if you must know...Rolleyes}

"Susan" - if that's really her name - is very helpful.
Maybe we can ask her to speak to iNew? they are all in Shenzhen and that store get their devices, if not from the factory, then one agent after the factory (so they have direct contact or +1 contact with the manufacturer).
What do you think? not a good idea?
Ahabec i already did something like that.
I asked them about inew's customer care service . They said the only way they know, is contacting them through the inews official site. ( which no one answeres you there. In the past 2 months i've sent them plenty of emails . but non of them are replied)

You know about the online battery petition, right? I even told to2c about it . they replied if they get any news from the factory about it, they will tell us.
Which actually means nothing will happen.
But it would be a great idea if a lot of people like yiu and me ask them to talk to inew factory or other factories to build a better battery for us. If a lot of people continuously contact them, they might do something about it.
I just signed and I don't even have my phone yet..
Guys i really appreciate your effort here, but i would think that a petition for an open source kernel has zero chance.
its not iNew that is the problem here but Mediatek.
Mediatek has been bombarded over and over with this request but they refuse to make any source public.
If you have a look at what is going on with the Faea effort that also looks like a dud. i mean its worth more than anything before, but still it more looks like a bunch of devs trying to reverse engineer that stuff than anything else. the ROM they managed to come up with boots on the Faea, but doesnt do much else. if they had the source then i would think they'd be further than that. but that is just my 2c.

As for the battery, i think the best strategy was to ask battery factories to make a replacement.
iNew wont care for a petition, they dont even answer to any email.
this phone is great, but in 3-4 months neither the market nor iNew is going to care about it anymore.
they are going to throw something new, maybe better out there or some of the many competitors is going to "get it right" and there is going to be another hype phone with great specs, value and good price.

By no means give up, you never know....
