If I created a Rom using "dsixda's Android Kitchen" which seems to give an update rom for our phone (Caesar a9600 / ZP900H / ZP910 / h9500+)...

How would I create a scatter file and the *.img files to go with it.... I can not install the rom to phone, using window 7
The files from the kitchen are likely an SD Update, not SP Flash.
Hi I have an issue with creating the scatter file with MTKDroidtools. I am using v2.4.6 and my phone is one of the MT6589 samsung note 2 clone GTN7100. I followed the instruction and click on the block map button, however the scatter file button is not enabled and I cannot click it.

Please help!
Is the phone information properly displayed in the home menu of droid tools? It's likely an ADB driver issue.
Ok I was able to figure out the whole scatter file loading process by alternate means, the mtkdroidtools button being disabled is still a mystery to me.

Here is how I figured out -

1. I downloaded mtk_rom_studio 1.1.77301 and was able to read the firmware.info file from the backup rom folder that MTKDroidtools created.
2. MTK_Rom_Studio create a file named MTK6516_android_scatter.txt
3. I figured out something wrong with the name of the file since my phone has chipset MTK6589 and the file name is wrong, turned out that the MTK_Rom_Studio is probably outdated and was unable to properly name the file.
4. I then searched the internet with the filename MTK6589_android_scatter_emmc.txt. I compared the file content from the internet and my file and they were exactly the same. I concluded that my scatter file was created properly, just the wrong name. I then renamed the scatter file to the proper MTK6589 name.
5. I tried to use the sp_flash tool to load the scatter file, and got the error "Error: Initialize scatter file failed. Please check the scatter file name you load is legal"
6. Turned out that the sp_flash tool was also outdated. For MTK 6589, i think you will need minimum version v.3.1250.2. With the updated sp_flash tool I was able to read the scatter file properly.

This is not a straight-forward process at all.... but hopefully my post would help someone out there.

This was either an ADB driver issue or possibly you were using an outdated MTK Droid tools?

3.1250 is a bit old. Use the latest version of MTK Droid Tools and SP Flash Tools. They're both in the stickies here.
I am using the MTK droid tools v2.4.6. Will check the ADB driver later on. After updated to the latest flash tool, I was able to successfully create a scatter file and flash cwm + recovery + root.

Thanks for your help.... now onto the issue of the 3G signals, which brought me into flashing the phone in the first place!

I will post in a separate thread for the 3G issue.
Okay. Yes, the Droid Tools 2.4.6 is the latest.

Are you using Windows 8? And I'll ask again, is the initial information on the Droid Tools main screen showing the phones info?

See attached screenshot. It is showing all the line items properly but the button "Create Scatter file" is disabled.
