I've recently purchased a THL W200s octacore smartphone from Ebay together with two THL W200.

When the three phones arrived i immediately tested them and everything looked and sounded correct, further use of THL W200s indicated a problem with its sound. I noticed that the jack connection to the headphone was rubbish,

when i plugged 2 different earpieces (the earpiece the phone came with and another sony earpiece) the sound was distorted and not clear at all. I also noticed that the speaker of the mobile was distorted and not clear. Also When enabled the touch sound and using the mobiles keypad i noticed that after the touch sound (i.e after i touch a letter) the speaker continues to make a grainy noise for a second. The following is a video link which i took of my phone to better understand what the problem is. [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

I demanded a new phone from the ebay seller, which he did send me a new phone and it arrived yesterday. I tested it out and still the same problem persist. Music out of the jack piece is distorted and whenever i type the speaker continues to make some noise. The only thing that improved is the mobile speaker when playing music as it is not distorted as the previous one.

I come to the conclusion that the phone is faulty from the factory and don't know what to do, If any of you have the same phone please tell me if you have a similar issue. Thanks !
This is only an issue of standards. Just get the adapter and you should be fine. Also make sure the plug is pushed all the way into the jack. It can be a tight fit.

I will check out yhe adapter but i ask, how come i still get this problem with the original headphones of the phone ? Also do you by any chance have an idea why the speaker makes noise when using touch sounds ( you can see the video link for more info)

Thanks!
Probably the same reason you named your thread "THL W200S" as opposed to "THL W200S problem with speaker and headphones". That is - attention to detail. Probably they are just some generic headphones ordered by the 1000 and some clerk or tech over looked the issue.

Try the adapter and see if it fixes your problem.

As far as speaker sound making a noise when using touch sounds, that's unlikely to be easily fixable if it's still happening. Just some slight feedback from the rapid on and off of the speaker.

You might want to disable audio enhancement in settings and see if it fixes the issues with sound.

Sometimes these are just the small bugs we need to live with when saving $500 and can't go up the street to exchange when there's a problem.
Hello mate i have the same problem and i think that the adapter doesnt help at all btw my speaker works fine it is clear and loud.About the 3.5mm jack theres 2things that might going on there: 1 bad sound proccessor just root it and install viper4android(something that i didnt test yet) 2 hardware fault.I tested my sony mdrz300 (simple music headphones) and they didnt work either.I dont think that the adapter really helps but give it a try and PLEASE keep me updated.
@giakos90 . Did you actually try the adapter? I'm not being rude, trying to figure out if you've actually tried it or are just guessing that it won't help.

no mate you are not and i am sorry if my answer sounded rude and geeky. It was just a guess because that adapter is for handsfrees not for simple headphones and i am not sure if it really helps. Also i think that the factory headset is omtp and it is working fine on every other phone i tested it Exept this.I hope and i wish that with the adapter the problem will be solved because i have the same problem Smiling

Very helpful sir, thanks. I will try to get the adapter and check it out. I tried to disable the audio enchancer and try the touch sound but the issue is still there. I am aware that this phone is a bargain but if certain issues where to be fixed i would start importing these quality phones to my country for marketing purposes which could boost the china phone market greatly.

It's likely not an issue with the headset, but with the way the W200S is 'wired' to accept the jack. If the sound quality is very bad, example you can barely hear the vocals and distortion and such, then please give the adapter a try. It fixed the problem with T200C (see link above). Try the adapter with other sets of headphones as well (MIC and non-mic).

@distracto , many of these issues exist with top brand phones as well. It's just that you can go up the street to exchange them when there's a problem. I'm sure many people would import them if they could find perfect phones for $180.
the grainy noise of the speaker it is software fault actually is the file of sound not hardware fault
