That is likely factory mode. Not recovery. Try holding the volume button the other way when you boot into recovery.

i tried using mobile uncle tool. i tried with MtkDroidTools and CWM magic tool.
it gives me a success msg with CWM magic tool. but when i try to boot this into recovery, it either goes to my old recovery or reboots the phone.

Hi
you can only have ONE recovery installed in the relevant flash area at any time.
so if you boot into old recovery it means you did flash correctly
if you are confident you have correct new recovery then you know that for mobileuncle it must be named
recovery-something.img
anything else just won't do
Then your phone must be rooted and you click on update recovery
---mobileuncle must find your recovery-something.img
I always put mine on the root or top level of sdcard....some innocent people use their internal storage.
try again in mobileuncle and report pls

What CWM are you trying to update with via Mobileuncle Tools?
Mtk Droid Tools should help you create the CWM, but you should flash the CWM recovery image with SP Flash Tool or update via Mobileuncle Tools. Is this what you are doing?
The links in post #4 should lead you to tutorials that will guide you to create your own CWM, as well as install it on your phone.
Please see the tutorials. If you get stuck somewhere, let us know.
