It's nothing specific to china phones or iNew. It's been here for decades...

I've just received another iNew V3 with 850/2100 on the back sticker but with 1.0.1 and baseband 25th feb as firmware (and 900/2000 bands enabled).
I'll check it right now and let you know
EDIT:
I've tried and what I got was Just Edge connection
Cheers

Thanks for the info. I guess that's it. There must be some hardware modifications in true wcdma900 version (engineer mode telling it has wcdma900 enabled, pretty much means nothing). If we don't have 900/2100 on the sticker below the battery, say bye-bye to wcdma900. Unless someone is more optimistic than me, I would say it's finally time to lock the thread. Thanks for all of your support.

One more thing if anybody wants to try. Might work for enabling 900, didn't work for me to enable 1900. But give it a shot, might work.
Open Mobileuncle Tools
-> Engineer Mode (Android) -> Phone information -> Press menu button -> Select radio band.
You should see entries like Automatic/EURO Band/Japan Band/AUS Band. Try selecting some band and press turn on radio. Make sure WCDMA preferred is set in network type. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip. But that only selects (not unlocks!) the neccessary bands for the choosen option. If you select Euro band, then only 900/2100 bands will be selected (depending on the V3 version you have), and other bands will be deselected. It's useful for newbies who don't know which frequency is used in which country, but either with all of them selected, it won't do any harm. Maybe some unnecessary band scanning when signal is too low to maintain it (slightly greater battery consumption?).

hello Guys,
here in Hungary we have an issue with Telenor Hungary as all the 850Mhz versions cannot make call when connected to 3g (H, H+), the call ended before starts.
When someones got the 900Mhz version they reported can call in Telenor network. After the 101 ROM release was able to download we did several flash on 850MHz phones and they turned into 900MHz phones without Telenor-bug.
So do I. But there is a serious new issue with 101 I got undercontrasted/undersaturated display with very highy ghosting of screen residues.
After I read your post of NVRAM backup/restore I am going to make a try:
- flash 101
- backup NVRAM
- flash 108
- restore NVRAM

Hi,
the problem you had is most probably due to the phone trying to switch to bands that are not supported.
You can try to disable band 850 from your phone by Mobile Uncle tools leaving the 2000 band only (I'm talking about UMTS bands only).
This should solve the issue
Cheers
