Hundreds of people did try that with no success. If you manage to achieve it, congratulation, but I need some proof in order to believe you.
Burs is a guy who spent dozens of hours trying this with no success too.
He did experiment NOT only with a rom of the 900 model but with nvram files too.
He reported back after he read a lot at internet and after his tries that this is a hardware related issue and you cannot switch bands softwarely.
If you read the topic that I told you before you will see what all of us are seeing.
I completly understand you and all others. But I have no that kind of SIM card which I can test this 850/900 issue with. Sorry to say that I cannot help you.
But I suggested a painless weay to test who is interested in this switch:
- change the modem file
- delete the nvdata
- reboot
It works on any ROM I think (1.1.1 and 1.1.5 tested) and doesnt need to wipe your system. Please do this test for yourself it would be better than any video
If your test fails, please report asap to clear the situation.
I am only sure that the 3G-dial fail bug is solved by this mod. The 850/900 conversion is a question to me after your questions, but my MUT says it is 900.

Looking forward to seeing the results. One way or another. Showing 900 in engineering mode is just showing what the baseband is programmed for, it doesn't mean the phone actually has a 900 radio now.
For the sake of all of us, that would be great if it is true. It would give some hope to all of us for transforming our dual-band to 4-band.
Whoever can perform the test as outlined above, that would be great. It truly is only a 5 min process (+ time to UL the vid).

In order to test it, you need to know that you are at an area that is covered by 900mhz antenna for 3G. At my country this is not standard. I know a provider that is using 900 for 3g at some areas but I do not know where, so there is no way to test it.
Also if I remember correct the user Burs along with another user faced the problem with 3g dial bug and it remained unsolved.
Anyway, according my opinion and after what I have read, this cannot be achieved.

As I posted before with screenshots attached, the modem.img swithc and the nvdata folder reset SOLVE the 3G dial bug. (I mean I was not able to make call during H/H+ session, it stopped with a "dial ended" message,, but with this mod the call (in/out) is work well.)

Did you ever read that topic I told you before?
The changes (swapping) on the files you suggest, have been done but with no success. It didn't work, so I cannot see any reason why it will work now?

Okay. This has fixed the iNew v3 3g call bug for @junkpod and several others. Let's not dispute that.
If it has not worked for others, perhaps it was due to some other difference in ROM versions or other NVRAM differences.
Try to keep calm is my recommendation. Junkpod, many I'm sure are grateful for your solution. It is something to try at least for those with the issue.

I would like to ask everybody with 3G-call bug to test tge mod. It has no risk when you make backups and you wont lost your data cz you dont have to fr/wipe.
Please report back if it worked or didnt.
When we will have reported fails we can say its an accidental fix, but till I have only positive feedback I truly believe it works.
You can imagine how big disadvantage was this bug: a cool phone and I wasnt able to use its full power. In Hungary 1/3 of people use Telenor, its same for inew owners too.
So please help to let it tested instead of sentence it based on old topic posts.

I have asked you about a million times about if you read that topic but I get a million different answers but not a YES or a NOT.
Believe me, it will help you a lot. Or probably you think that you have change band on your phone and this topic will not provide to you any help, since you achieve it!
PS I am glad you fixed one of your problems..
