Bad GPS signal reception is related to bad antennas that are used in phones and tablets. MTK receivers are not guilty for bad reception.
I use Goclever M713G (MT6577 + MT6620) as a GPS navigation when i drive and it had very bad GPS reception. I have tried many software related solutions, but none of them helped. I was sure that it was not a software related problem, but I did not know if the problem was due to GPS antenna or GPS receiver, so finally I made a reradiating GPS antenna. So with this reradiating GPS antenna that I made, GPS signal is very strong, now I have GPS lock in few seconds (without reradiating GPS antenna i have lock in about 3 to 5 minutes, and GPS signal is poor).

Hi
We have a 2 month old Zopo 990.
Using the GPS is a hit and miss event with the 990. It never works indoors and cannot obtain a lock on a balcony. In a clear field it takes about 1-1.5 minutes to get a lock which it will maintain unless there is any kind of obstruction (backpacks/pockets will stop it) and it is unusual to get a lock with more that 5 satellites in use.
As for the accuracy... it is OK but vague and sometimes silly. E.g. about 1200m up a mountain and the Zopo showed 30m below sea level, Sygic maps (normally a reliably app/map combo) struggles to give sufficiently advanced turn directions and Google maps/nav is unreliable to the point of being useless e.g. yesterday we got an accuracy of within 2000m.
Regards.

iNew V3 very good. Cold locks under a minute even indoors. Warm locks in just a couple of seconds. Normally quite strong SNR.
