Also, using email app or gmail app?
cant see a build date but there is a build number
Build number at the end should be the date. 2014xxxxx. If not, then build number is fine. 20140912

Okay, I am on the same version, but don't have this issue. Not sure yet if you're using gmail app or email app.
There's been at least one release since the ROM we're on.

Yes, I wasn't trying to blame it on the app. Just seeing which it was.
That ROM is here:

Don't know whether it will fix your issue or not, also I think have been some other released since then.

That is official from Doogee, but needs to be flashed exactly as shown in the pic with the correct tool.
I do recommend waiting a bit. I think there is a newer one. Or at least Gizbeat said they were working on it.

As far as I know there was no issue with V3. Normally the worst that can happen is you lose NVRAM. That can be easily restored if rooted. Anyways, I doubt factory reset will fix your email issue.
If you're referring to restoring to original factory ROM after installing a new ROM, that isn't possible. It will just restore the newly flashed ROM.
I'd recommend getting a gmail account regardless You can set your gmail to "pop" all of your email from most mail services (hotmail, yahoo etc..).
