Good evening all,

I have a problem with my Vernee Thor E. I am trying to get a 128 GB micro SD card to work in the phone, but whenever I insert it and start op Android, it tells me that the SD card is corrupted.

It is a brand new SD card, but I formatted it on the phone and on Windows 10 anyway without luck. Windows has no problems with the SD card by the way. Whenever I format the card on Android, it completes the process but that does not resolve the problem. Also, another SD card that I own did work (2 GB).

I am running the 2017_06_15 ROM from Cleopatra.
Does anyone here have a clue what is going on here?

Greets!

Thank you very much for your quick reply, Cleopatra. Unfortunately, I have run into additional problems since I have made the last post. I have therefore not yet tried the solutions that you proposed.

I am not sure if I should create an additional topic for my other problems. I would rather just send you a private message, but since I do not have enough posts to do so, I thought I would try and post the new story in this topic. Please let me know if I should do this in another way.

So, where I am now:

The SD card was not working, but I thought I would just put in my two SIM cards and use the phone for a while. But, when I inserted the two SIM Cards, the phone could only recognize SIM2. I have switched cards and tried them on other devices. They are fine. None of my sim cards are working on slot number 1.

The sim card slot was working fine when I first used to phone with the stock rom, and after the first OTA I did. I am however afraid that I somehow damaged the hardware with the poking stick that I use to get the SIM/SD-tray out. On the other hand I am not sure if it is possible to damage it that way.

So, what happened next was the following. I searched on the Internet for a solution. I came across several posts regarding the same problem and one solution was to simply wipe the cache and such. So I flashed Cleopatra's recovery (TWRP) and used the wipe option in this piece of software. I then rebooted the device, and it got stuck in the loading screen. I tried rebooting again without luck.

When I last tried I was able to go into TWRP. I was however unable to find a factory reset option there. Also, I saw a post that you (Cleopatra) made in another topic in which you said something like: "why didn't you contact me before you starting doing stuff that you don't know anything about". After that I thought: stop what you are doing and ask for help first!

So here I am. I hope someone understands the place that I am currently at. Hopefully you guys can help me to get this thing to work properly.

Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,

Thomson

Yes ... I remember about it Big Grin

NOW we are trying to solve together your problem.

STEPS :

1) I strongly recommend you the next version of SP Flash Tool :

3) Turn off your phone
4) Open SP Flash Tool.
5) Load the scatter file inside flashable rom.
6) Select FIRMWARE UPGRADE option.
7) Click Download.
8) Connect your turned off phone to the pc with USB cable.
9) Be patient until the flash process will be finished (100%).
10) Disconnect the USB cable.
11) Press power button.

Thanks very much for your quick reply Cleopatra. When I get home tonight I will try and flash the ROM and update you about it here.

Thanks again.

Okay. I've flashed the ROM again and luckily I can boot normally now. Unfortunately my old problem is still there:

The phone does not detect a SIM card in slot number 1. As I previously mentioned I tried multiple SIM cards. I have also tried putting the SIM card in with a micro SD card in the other slot. Still no luck.

Have you got any idea what I can do now?
I'm sorry for the double post, but I'm a bit worried that my previous message is missed because it edited the message before that.

I want to try and flash the Vernee stock ROM to check if that helps with the SIM card problem. What do you guys think? So probably I should use a ROM from May?

I hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers,

Thomson

Hello.

It is a very strange problem (SIM cards not detected).
Do you have already checked your IMEIs ?
Settings-->About phone-->Status-->IMEI information (Slot1 & Slot2).

I strongly recommend you the THOR E – 2017_06_15 rom.

Regards
I have not yet checked the IMEI, but I think they are alright because the 2nd SIM card slot works perfectly fine (I don't have the phone with me now, so I cannot check).

I have flashed THOR E – 2017_06_15 rom (your version).

Should I flash an older rom to check if the problem is still there?

Your problem do not depends from the firmware version.
When you will have the phone onto your hands, please check both IMEI slots.

Possible solutions

For example, the first solution could be the next :

Try to restore your IMEIs typing *#6813# (onto the dialer).

Regards
Both IMEI are present and correct.
Do you have any more ideas on what the problem might be?
