Hello,

I know this is not the place for this kind of threads, but I don't really know where to ask this and maybe someone could help me here.

I have received iNew V3 from 1949deal.com in the end in January 2014. There was some problems in the beginning - of course with battery, and gps. But as anyone else I thought that it could be solved really fast by new software.

But in May appeared new problem - Touch screen had malfunction and it does not working (part of it) I have decided to sent it on warranty. There was no problem with sending it. I have also add accurate instructions in @ and in the package what is wrong.

After almost two months(!!!) and a lot of my @ people from 1949deal.com wrote to me that there is malfunction, they need to replace the mainboard and I need to pay extra 70$ .

My question is - why they want me to pay extra fee for repair when this phone is on warranty and It should be repaired for free ? Is this normal ?
Hey dude sorry to hear grief

Were you able to confirm all the warranty info from here?

In particular did you give them any chance to say the phone was not covered by
warranty due to any of these conditions?
Quote:not rooted, not change the os ,not update

we wont accept the phone with rooted and the os is changed

I am guessing they found you had rooted it and put a new ROM on it?

Hello Peanuk,

There was a problem with another user @Paulus02 . In fact, they are no longer our sponsor due to his specific situation regarding a similar matter.

We do our best to choose sponsors we believe will treat our users right, but in paulus02 case they were way on the side of wrong, which is why we removed them.

I do not know all the details of your case, but I hope you can get this resolved. The best we can do now is sticky this post and let other people know.

When you are ready for a new phone, and if you are willing to give our other sponsors another go, please let me know and I will get you a phone discounted beyond the usual rate.
I would contact [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] directly and ask them to mediate in this matter. They can put pressure on the seller to comply the iNew warranty as any seller should. I would also send a notification to the seller stating that he should honor the iNew warranty and that you have notified iNew of the fact that he doesn't. Usually this will quickly change the mind of a non-cooperative seller to avoid any problems with his manufacturer.
Thank you guys for answering me, I did not know there was that kind of problems with this reseller. Contacting with iNew is a great idea, I will do that !
Please do let us know if and how your problem is solved, it will be of help to others.
Thanks.
You are very unlikely to get anywhere with iNew. If they even read your email, let alone understand the problem, they will not care. And even if they do care, 1949deal will not care that they care.

The other side of this is that these are not unlimited warranties. I don't know the specifics of this particular situation, but same as any big company, items that show signs of being dropped or misused are likely not going to be covered.

That being said, don't get me wrong. If the phone is in good physical shape, 1949deal has a duty to cover the phone at no cost other than shipping.

I do wish the best for peanuk.
@peanek:
At least they send the phone you bought. They did not even bother to send my refund. My paypal dispute even ignored, but in the end paypal refund me after I escalate my claim.

They are no longer sposor here for a reason, in the end I support admin/moderator who make the decision. And it's the reason I still around.

If you decide its worth it to pay the fee, make sure you use paypal. If you did not get it back repaired near the end of paypal buyer protection period, which is 45 days, prepare to open diapute. At least you'll get your 70usd back.

I think nobody here actually could help you more than advice, currently this forum is not in good terms with them. They even erase complain in their fb page include mine. What a shame, they used to provide good service.
when I bought my first phone from a company that is not this company, I was offered but refused to buy the international warranty.

The reasons are as follows:
1) There is always a delay before you get a "return code/authorisation"
2) Generally they don't like you sending back via Air Courier companies
So while you wait what next?
The answer my friend is to find my old flip phone.......2G radio baseband.

So in future maybe 3 options?
A) Buy a cheap phone, if there is a problem, don't expect it to be fixed.
B) Buy an expensive phone.....try and get local service to fix from imported parts.
Assumes you did not buy any International warranty.
Assumes you trust that your local repair shop will be easier to deal with.
C) Send it back and hope to get phone back after a considerable delay.

One of the companies not named by OP has a warranty policy that suggests that phones with touchscreens only have a 30 day warranty.

I am really impressed with this. Can't look
