The best thing and play safe is to use only Custom Roms that comes with Root and works with Clockworkmod Recovery.

Sorry, Im on the Lenovo S939 now so I cant recommend any A536 Roms to you. However, the basics are all the same though.

Store the SuperSU zip file in the root of your SD card. Once you have installed CWM, boot into recovery mode, choose to install from zip. Select the zip file.
Reboot after installation, then update binaries in SuperSU.
