Wondering if anyone can help. I have a HERO H7500+ and recently, after a day or two on a new ROM, the phone will not wake up from sleep. The power button is unable to wake the phone, or turn the phone off. The only solution I have found it to pull the battery and reboot. But pretty soon the phone will lock-up again. This problem is the same across MIUI and stock 4.2.1 ROMs and occurs with either battery supplied with the phone.
Does that sound like a hardware issue?

You said this is recent on a new ROM. Since then you've tried different ROMs and the problem is the same. Is that correct?
Was it happening before you flashed the new ROM?
It's happening on all ROMs

You're probably right if you've tried different ROMs and they don't solve the issue.
If you mean it happens while your phone is in deep sleep, try to set your phone so it never deep sleeps and see if the issue continues.

Man! I have the same problem, and still looking for a real solution. There is one thing I've experienced:
There are 2 roms which actually won't let this thing to happen:

Thats it.
Other than that, with official rom and other roms this problem keeps on turning back every single time.
Still hope some will find a global solution for that one.
I am facing the same problem, since Decemeber 2013. This problem never happened before this. I did Factory Reset many times to overcome this problem, but it is still here. It would be great if someone come up with global solution, as I do not to install Custom ROM / FLASH it. It makes me scare, if I failed.
If I elaborate the problem, then problem is stated as :
Phone is in "ON" state when it hangs, because most of the time problem comes when i receive a sms, and green notification light is blinking. when later after some time when I try to unlock the phone using power button, H7500+ does not wake up. something like software hang. I am using this phone since Jul 2013 and never tried to Root/Custom ROM. Never faced such problem, rather I never felt the need to reboot it. But due to this problem, sometimes I have to reboot (by pulling off the battery) the phone around ten times a day, and some days, for only 2 to 3 times.
Meanwhile I noticed that the problem mostly came overnight, when I sleep, I receive 5 to 6 sms during night time, and when i wake up in morning, notification light is blinking, but power ON button does not make it wake up. I am sure, it is some software problem. Perhaps, some recent backend update from GOOGLE services (in December 2013) makes it hang or deep sleep. but really it is making to annoyed.
Just for info, my phone is ZP 810 / h7500+ with custom ROM of 4.2.1 , 20130425-162644. I hope the genious guys here, soon will come up with a universal solution.
Yesterday, tried to enable "Recovery " mode in my phone as well using this forum held posts, but my phone is not recognized by Win 7 64bit machine when mobile is OFF. so flash tool is unable to process the "Download" step...
(trying to research more, hope to get that around soon)
Finally, I was able to get my h7500+ ZP810 mobile recognized by win7 64 bit machine. I used PdaNET ADB VCOM drivers for MTK6589 for this mobile. when I connect the mobile in OFF state while, port appears for a few seconds only in device manager, and then disappears. but during the same time it is recognized by SP FLASH tool, and it starts loading the ROM / recovery image. I did put my mobile in MPT mode , before switching off. and after than switched off my mobile. removed battery for few seconds, pressed DOWNLOAD button from SP flash tool, and then placed battery in mobile and then plugged the USB cable. then in device manager , under port senction VCOM port appeared and then disappeared, but at the same time SP FLash tool picked the phone at COM port and it started working.
I tried ZOPO website both roms (Stock ROMS), but the problem remained there. phone gets hanged and locked up. for JB release 4.2 with JUNE 2013 date, results were more bad. as that was slow and more hanging.
TOday i tried : Hero H7500+ 4.2.1 ******** Mod By DzhYn (Port From Lenovo P780) ОБНОВЛЕНА 25.06.2013
It is working fine, but i am feeling like that phone is getting HOT from back side , near the camera lense near FLASH. Either it is GPS or WIFI is making is hot at backend, although both were OFF when i exerienced phone hot. let me use the phone for a couple of more days and then i can give more feedback.
I hope my phone will not lock up / hang again on this ROM, otherwise i would be in great trouble.
