But I was wondering if there is way to do it in my android phone itself without PC
I SUPPOSE THAT :
from the homescreen tap on Menu ... tap on Settings ... scroll to SD/Phone Storage ...
tap on "Unmount SD card" ... tap on "Format SD"

Sorry for my late reply ... but actually I'm at working place :-)
Try to reboot into recovery ... tap on "Mounts & Storage" ... tap on "Format /sdcard 1"
