Hello brother,

i am having an Asus Zenfone 2 Ze551ml 4gb RAM version. I used your previous tutorial to flash/root my phone. I had WW version Stock ROM but by following your previous tutorial I flashed a CN version pre-rooted image.

Now I am trying to flash WW version of pre rooted ROM but it is not working. I followed step by step procedure as in your new and tried installing UL-Z00A-WW-2.17.40.12-user.zip by replacing WW by CN but still not updating.

Then I tried to update from OTA and ADB Sideload.

In OTA update an update was detected but it failed when rebooted in the recovery mode where a green android image is shown and it showed an android image with error message.

The error is something like this :
Finding Update Package
Opening Update Package
E:file path;/Sdcard/UL-Z00A-Cn-2.17.40.12-user.zip
Verifying update package....
E:Footer is wrong
E:Signature verification failed
Installation Aborted.

I have done everything but I am fed up.

I want to update the to latest ROM version and that too WW version as I am from India and I cannot read Chinese..

Please help me, it will be much appreciated.
Hi bro,
I followed your instructions and flashed my zenfone 2 4/64g. That's great and many of phone's problem solved but a serious one rised: Phone reported that SIM card 2 is not present! so I cannot use that sim. Please help me, it's urgent.

Hello, man.

Was it working before?

Have you made sure its turned on in settings?

Also remember that SIM 2 can only catch 2g signal unless you switch them in Android settings.

Check "Phone info" to make sure the IMEI still exists.

thanks for your quick reply,
Yes, It was working before (original rom was CN). when the phone reported that sim 2 is not present, I turned off and then turned on the phone and then suddenly sim 2 appeared but only for few hours and then poof! SIM2 disappears again.

These flashes shouldn't touch anything to do with your SIM. If your IMEI is still there and the signal is appearing and reappearing, it might be because you're going out of service range. Remember SIM2 is only 2g.

Thanks again for your reply, but my problem still exists.
Anyway, how can I un-root my phone so then It can receive OTA updates?

Another question, my friend:
Can I use "adb sideload file.zip" to update the firmware?
I keep having waiting for devices when i try to flash .img
I noticed that this method does not flash fastboot, making it somewhat more secure than the method on xda.

Anyone knows if this is on purpose or I missed something? Because I really want to try this.
