Great tutorial, but I'm afraid this doesn't work for my THL W200.
I have MT6589T chip in my smartphone, and I wanted to potentially install a modern CWM (because the 5xxx version is horribly outdated and for some reason its incapable of mounting my microSD card, so I cannot install ROM's from it at all, nor can I backup my phone to a separate microSD - its quite frustrating).

The MTK flash tools cannot read my phone. I followed the instructions to the letter, but its incapable of reading my phone even though its connected and ADB says its connected.
It simply insists that the phone is unreadable in the lower left corner.

Some help would be appreciated.

Hi! Great tutorial. Thanks, it worked fine in my Cube U59GT tablet (fake MTK8312, actually a MTK6582).

But I can only reboot in Recovery via software (Mobileuncle, ROMManager...) I'm not able to find what key sequence is to boot recovery. Power + Vol+ does'nt work and Power + Vol- starts stock (chinese) Factory Mode.

Can anyone help me? I did not find any info about U59GT on the Web, only U30GT, U39GT (that have Rockchip hardware) This sucks
Where there was the instruction:

If MTKDroidTools ever asked you whether to install patched files to the phone, you have to say 'No'. You will be asked twice. Therefore, just click 'No' button twice. The process fill be finished, and you can now quit MTKDroidTools.

I had missed this and said yes to the prompts but when rebooting into recovery, CWM came up and works perfectly.
Great tutorial, works fine with my clone s5 phone, mtk 6589
Thanks Gizbeat / Ranpha you guys rocks... cheers
Any success with a MTK6591 so far?
This should work fine with mt6591. What phone do you have?
