Dear Tomáš Kubec,

I was fighting with GPS signal (no fix and loosing strength) of my V3 since I bought it (it's been over 2 months) and nothing helped me - till now. I have flashed ROM from this thread few minutes a go and test GPS signal indoors - In View 17 satellites in use - 7 satellites. I don't know what have you done but you are really Copperfield for me man Smiling

Polak Czech dwa bratanki - I owe you few nice lagers Smiling
Thanks for the compliment buddy.
Thanks great work everything works fine except for a small bug in the touch of CWM.Yesterday i test GPS and I have no more to congratulate you on this work, with sigyc in driving both the speed and the capture of the satellites and the accuracy is perfect.Really great work.
Hi,
Could you tell us what files have you changed in this rom?
I know that someone has asked this before but i would like to use it in other roms.
It would be beneficial to the comunity. Thats what android is all about.

Thanks
I flashed it yesterday, i only tested the GPS on the balcony and it worked perfectly!!

Thank you very much.

You could try with the attached gps.conf from his rom (extract it to \system\etc folder).
Just be sure to set the file owner/group to 'root' and modify file attributes to 644 (-rw-r--r--).
You can do that with Solid Explorer or Root Explorer. Root rights are ofcourse needed for that.

And no, it's not that I'm trying to reverse engineer anything.
Everyone can compare this rom with the stock one, and get to the same conclusion.
But it would be easier if he made a flashable zip file, so everyone can check it within seconds.

There are some other changed files that have to do with root, recovery, boot, system patches, and some files are zeroed or greatly reduced in size, but I think this gps.conf is the most crucial of them all.

My GPS works fine on stock 1.0.7. Didn't have to do anything except first downloading the EPO file. Sometimes it locks in 5-10 seconds, but most I've waited for was about two minutes. While in motion (driving in a car), it can sometime jump off the road and into the fields, but it soon corrects itself, so it's not a biggie.

Already did that to gps.conf and epo_conf.xml and it didnt work.
I hope Tomáš Kubec tell me what the files are or i will end up making a diff beteween the orginal and this one. So he could just save me the time. xD
Well i've been playing with this and i think the files that fixed the gps are:
/system/etc
----- gps.conf
----- epo_conf.xml
/system/etc/firmware
----- mtk6572_82_patch_e1_0_hdr.bin
----- mtk6572_82_patch_e1_1_hdr.bin
/system/xbin
----- libmnlp_mt6582

The gps.conf needs to be configured with your local ntp server (FasterFix will do the trick).

I've tried to copy this to my 1.0.8 rom and after a reboot my agps and epo started to work. Still my gps wont work(im starting to think that i have faulty hardware like the antenna or something) it shows the satellites but it wont pick any signal. Later i will make a GPS fix for 1.0.8 as for now i want to repair my phone gps
