Hey everyone, been lurking here for a bit but I've got my next mobile setup/first china phone on the way so it's time to become active. I previously had a Samsung Note and in the end I was pretty disgusted with it, hopefully china phones will be as great as my research has told me;the right ones of course.

So I ordered my Ulefone U7(same as Carpad T69, Tronsmart PS7, Yuandao M87, and OrientPhone Mega Pro 7.0) by Yatay from 1949deal late last night. Tip: if you want the flip view cover and/or extra battery like me then skype them because they have them in stock but not on the site yet. They will alter a miscellaneous sku to the amount that you need to pay for the extras. Anwyho, super excited and I chose DHL so hopefully I'll have it next week! Anyone else here order one yet?

I also have a Sony Smartwatch 2 and Jawbone Era on the way, tech bliss here I come Smiling.
Pirate. Welcome to the forum man. Thanks for finally posting something Big Grin

Looking forward to the review of the your new phone. Good choice for going with DHL yea. Though I vote No! It's a monsters.
It's too big for me.
Thanks Sniper! Most definitely, I've got a bit of reviewing experience from the hookah world so I shall endeavor. lol well dang.

@vampirefo yeah it's definitely not for everyone, that's why i added that last option Tongue.

Iunno, maybe I'm a bit eccentric but I'm also a good bit techie plus I'm sure the part that drives me to do crazy stuff like drifting also makes me take electronics to the limit. I would have to admit that this where it's no longer a phablet, it's a PhabMax® and it's phabulous in my eyes.
Mine is coming tomorrow (Tronsmart PS7).
Let's see what we get, I know I need to root and put Per-app DPI on it to get full benefit of that screen. I've had Ulefone U650 (6.5") before and it was pretty decent until I broke it Rolleyes
Sweet! I'm not alone anymore Big Grin. Tomorrow! Dang, I even haven't received tracking on mine yet Sad. I paid for DHL but yeah...

Root for sure but per-app dpi? Is that really necessary? I can't recall ever having any issues with the built in dpi converter. Yeah I have heard great things about Ulefone so I have high hopes. some guy from another site was telling me that in his experience a Ulefone hes tested not too long ago had the best/fastest GPS connection he'd seen to yet, I also saw some thorough GPS testing on another site showing our phone performing exceptionally. Where are you located, if you don't mind my asking? Curious to see how the radios perform.

I use Per-app dpi mostly for email/Gmail, messaging and settings. On these screens, some UI elements become too big, childish-looking. For example, contact list on a normal phone will show you 7 items at once, but on a 7" screen it's wasteful - if you can see more entries, then you don't need to scroll that much = you're getting the most out your device. Font size change doesn't accomplish the same thing and device-wide DPI changes cause some other problems.

I'm in Michigan and I'll be using it with AT&T. The GPS on my Ulefone wasn't remarkable and the phone was lacking compass, so it was a step back for me.
Oh ok, well the U7 already has a tablet OS or something to that effect. The settings are in tablet format and they made two really cool swipe down settings boxes. We'' just have to see how everything else works though, glad you mentioned it in case it's needed.

Perfect, I'm in New Mexico and I'll be starting on AT&T but switching to Straight Talk(AT&T service). Huh, that's surprising, maybe they've just recently improved their GPS tech. Here's the article I referenced about our phones GPS: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] . Also, according to Antutu it has a compass. So hopefully you can recover from your step back and be ahead of the curve now. I'm sure it's going to blow my craptastic Samsung Note out of the water.
I'm coming from Note 2, and I'm on StraightTalk as well.
Although I'll be loosing LTE (as limited as it was), I have to admit that Ulefone performed a bit better than Note 2 in terms of latency, judging by website loading. I found myself leaving Wi-Fi off at home (which I don't do with Note because it's too sluggish), even though both phones had similar speed test scores. Another thing was connection handoff (from 3G to Wi-Fi and vice versa) where again U650 was quicker to switch.
One bummer of U650 was camera. When reviewing pics from these phones, people shoot flowers outside... I'm sure these come out nice. But with real life applications, taking pics of documents, serial numbers in low light - Ulefone was all over the place, hunting for focus, misfiring flash etc. I hope the U7/PS7 will do better.
No good LTE here either so I'm not worried about it, that and imo mobile internet doesn't need to be faster than HSPA+ anyways. Yeah I have very little respect left for Samsung, not just due to the poor performance on such an expensive phone but also the bloatware/spyware on the Note 3 and their installing of a backdoor on another phone. They really seem be going down with Apple, on a somewhat different path, but nonetheless gaining to much popularity/power and going downhill from there.
