My next model will be UMi X2 MTK6589T. $80-100 cheaper is the THL W100 which is worth a hard look. Depends on your budget.

I'm selling my Hero h7500+ for cheap as well, but it's got a slow-charging issue (5-6 hours for full charge). Though it's got 2 batteries, so with an external charger the problem is solved.

As of this post, this is the newest baseband for MTK6589. It should be compatible with all MTK6589 phones. It reportedly is the best update yet and fixes most all 3G issues. Had been meaning to get this up for awhile. Thanks to Mr. Clauri for the reminder.

I have attempted this fix using the root explorer option and the network just goes away completely. I was wondering if there is a cwm recovery for the Star N7189 MTK6589 as I will try to flash the new modem.img through the recovery. I am all out of options and I am tired of having to refresh the 3G on my phone every time I need to make a phone call or send a text message. Thanks in advance.

I finally have cwm installed. But when I flashed the 3G fix it took away my network all together. I can see that there are others that have experienced this, but what is the solution? (Willing to donate for help on this situation)
