Sneak Peek of the Oxygen OS From OnePlus

Recently, OnePlus released the brand names of their developing ROM: Hydrogen OS (H2 OS) for the phones to be released in the China market, and Oxygen OS for the global models.

OnePlus had promised to deliver a ROM that would be simple, close to stock, and highly customizable. Now, screenshots of what look to be the lockscreen and perhaps a homescreen, have emerged.

The series of lockscreen shots illustrate the color themes that will define the Oxygen UI. On the other hand, the homescreen shows app icons arranged into categories, which will most likely be customizable and defined by the user.

The particular screenshot shows a division among games, tools, and social media. App icons are very conservative in terms of design, keeping the screen layout looking neat and uncluttered.

If these leaked images hold truth, the Oxygen OS looks to be quite interesting, and will be an absolutely fresh and different flavor from Cyanogenmod UI. The wait for the official release won’t be too long, as OnePlus will be launching the ROM on the 12th of this month.

Would you have preferred a more complex design or does this level of simplicity strike your fancy? Let us know what your thoughts are on the potential Oxygen UI.
